haven't run anything but mobile 1 since i've been into mustangs. local store had royal purple in and i've seen a lot of you guys talk about it so i called and asked my mechanic what he thought and 20 min later we were filling up the oil pan with it. feel bad about cheating, but if it does what it says its gonna do then..... well that will be awesome

I used Amsoil and switched to RP-Havnt looked back once the car runs great!

Just switched from Motorcraft blend to Royal Purple a couple of months ago in my 07 GTand love it. I use Mobil 1 5w30 extended in my wifes 07 Maxima. She sometimes gives me a hard time about why her car can't get the purple stuff. Maybe one day down the road.

I was a user of Mobil 1 for many years. Just recently changed to Amsoil. Haven't looked back.

i ran the rp for over a year. then went to mobil. thiersd no real differewnce. dont believe the hype

How do you know one is better than the other? Wouldn't you have to do some combination of oil sample testing, tearing apart the engine for inspections, dyno testing,and review/analysis of the additives. Does anyone have definitive evidence that one is better than the other? I believe one of them claims to have an additive that stays on you cylinder walls to reduce friction at start-up; would this also be more likely to cause gumming? I know back in the late 70's I would not use Pens*** because I saw first hand evidence of gumming in an engine from all the paraffin. I'mno Chemical Engineer, but there should be some definitive evidence that one is truly better than the other.

Having said all that, I am due for my first oil change on my 2008 GT and am planning on using a blended synthetic for the first time. So which brand do I use?
