oil return for turbo/supercharger-need pictures

im doing a custome DIY turbo kit and gathering my info. ive seen a few tapped oil pans for the oil return. i have a few questions on the subject.

1.is there a better/best spot to tap it?
2.how much is involved in dropping the pan?
3.is it safe to add a tee to the oil pressure sensor for a gauge and the oil feed for the turbo?in the past on other cars i have heard of the tee breaking off,so i would use a SS line and attach my tee to it.

any pictures of your setup would be great!

You dont have to drop the pan (unless you're ungrading it) ... drain the oil (as well as the other fluids) then tap it. Make sure to get any shavings out that may have fell in the pan too.

Actually you will probably need a sending unit, like a secondary pump.

Here's what mine looks like

I don't beleive there is any tapping of the pan and they use some stainless lines and some of the 300 psi rated rubber type hoses.

I don't have a picture of the actual return line, but it goes directly into the oil filler spout and has a disconnect similiar to an air compressor connection. If my car was here I would take a picture to help you out.

If you would like to purchase a kit or get some ideas, call STS turbos and hit'em up. Their system has a built in alarm, PSI activated switch to change the pump from high/low, a seperate high /low switch and a stand alone pump.

I will give you my final numbers from the motor build in a few weeks.

As soon as I get the car back I can also show you what the return looks like. They basically drill directly into the oil cap on the passenger side and oil goes straight down through the cam covers. The return hose is just routed under the car and up through the engine bay. Hit me up to remind me in a few weeks and i will take a photo.

I have no idea about the pump. If you will need one or not.

It is nice to leave on after you've been driving to let the turbo cool down.
