The 02 has a problem in the looks department.
It doesn't look near as sweet as the 05

there are 2 big differences: Looks both interior and exterior. Engine, 2v vs 3v. the 05+ are 300hp 320tq the 02 is 260hp 302tq. and most people say the 3v in the 05+ is a better engine.

one problem with the 3v engines is that the spark plugs get carbon build up that causes them to brake off in the head. first year body styles almost always have more problems than 2nd year.. so I would recommened getting an 06 if you can.

edit: fixed tq.. thanks

There's a nice, low mileage Limer on eBay. This is what mine looked like when I got it. I've had no problems with my 05. Only 4% were made in this color in 05 and 06 combined. It's love it or hate it with this color, though.

The 05s are somewhat different from the 06-08s.
Beware of the dreaded water leak TSB on the S197s.
I would be a pullin the carpet back and checking for rust
on the passengers side before purchasing.
Also stay away from 05 Stangs with the Skipper 500/1000.
They are problem makers.
I would go thru the TSBs at the top of the forum page
before buyinga S197.
