The whipple instuctions tell you to cut that tab off. I still don't know if the tensioner is the problem. Is there anything i should look for cause the tensioner looks perfect. If i knew for sure the problem was the tensioner i would have no problem buying a thump_rrr, but i don't want to buy it then have the belt shread off again.

The only advice I can give you is to remove the tensioner and put it on a perfectly flat surface. If it doesn't lay flat, even if it's only out a couple of degrees, then it will throw belts. Just based on other twin screw owners and their belt shredding issues, I'm willing to bet that the tensioner is the culprit. Hope you get it figured out.
