Default RE: O/R midpipes, how much do they really help?

I just had my check engine light go on after three days with my new o/r x. What are my different options for fixing that problem and am I actually hurting my car by running o/r's?

It's probably just your rear O2 sensors, you need to have them turned off with a new tune.
