Default exhaust question

hey everyone i have been looking at this site for a while and I realize that a lot of people know what they are talking about on here.
I recently purchased a jba exhaust for my 07 mustang gt. For some reason I believe that it actually made my car slower?? Is this possible and if so WHY?
Thanks a lot.

Here is a link of the exhaust I purchased...

Well I know that these mustangs come stock with 2.5 in. piping after the headers and that is big enough, so unless you are pushing serious power then you don't need 3 in. pipes. It could be possible that the 3 in. tubing is making the exhaust gases change from a steadily flowing fluid to a more turbulent fluid because your tubing is now .5 in bigger and the exhaust gases are now moving at a slower velolcity and your engine isn't making enough power to push the gases out at the same velocity as before when you had 2.5 in. pipes.

Possible but I don't think it would affect it from the back half so much... He didn't swap his chamber, just the mids and mufflers... If it is flowing different it may take a few runs for the system to readjust... I would reset if possible and let it learn everything all over again with the new setup.

How the sound??

You lost a lot of backpressure and just lost some low end torque. Nothing to worry about just get an intake/tune to fix it.

Why would you get a 3" catback for a assumingly stock N/A GT in the first place?[sm=dontgetit.gif]
