Engine shuts down, when coasting at 60 mph?

So basically you're push starting the car when it does this in order to get it running again? Uh... Why not just leave it out of gear and then turn the key to start the car up that way? Push starting is probably harder on it...?

I dont have the stock intake with me in order to try it out. The car is already coasting at 60 mph, so getting out to push is out of the question, lol. I just push in the clutch, put it in 5th gear and let it out which starts it.
Thanks

By putting it in gear and letting out the clutch while rolling you are using the kinetic energy of the moving car to start the engine, this is the same principle as push starting. I agree with Riptide, that can't be good for the drivetrain to do that at 60mph.

This will be the second time its happened, I'm coasting in neutral down a hill to save gas of course, and the engine lights up,and rpm's a 0. I put it in 5th and lightly let out the clutch, and it starts back up while still in motion. I do have the Jlt Cai with Bamachips 93 Oct Tune.
Thanks

Restarting the motor like that is fine just don't use too low of a gear. I used to do it all the time on my 87 sentra (250K and counting)and 00 mustang (125K when I sold it and rock solid) messing around with my GF's when we were out in the boonies at night.. turn my headlights off and turn the key to off with the car in neutral like the car died then start it right back up by doing that trick.
