Default UPDATE: dealer FIXES excessive heat on legs

ok guys it appearsfixed!! dealer said there was a space between the front and a rear shields on the body deflecting exhaust heat heat thruthe space to the floor board.

he installed 2 adhesive backed insulator pads(dealer part # 5W7Z-5401688-E kit)to the bare areas. i picked it up and drove for a couple hours.NO MORE HEAT ON MY LEGS!!!!!

i hope this will help you all with the same problem.

I knew there was something mess up about that. Everyone else was telling you that it was normal but I never felt excessive heat on my legs. Thats great that you got it fixed.

Do you have any pics. I might have to do this on my car. Do you think they will do it for free even though I don't have a warrenty anymore?

Just called my local dealer with that part#. He cant find it, says he will call me back after some more digging.

Hey it never hurts to ask. I think I'll just buy it and put it on myself. Shouldn't bee too hard.

sorry, i was off by one number.

part # 5W7Z-5401588-E...insulator dash panel(two of them)

this was done at Performance Ford here in Omaha...402-934-5656. my service man was dennis morrissey. i'd have you're dealer call him and reference my GT/CS conv(i was there 3 times for this so he'll remember me)

if there is any other way i can help, please let me know.

Dynamat would have done the same thing for you but if done under warranty than it was worth it!

Checked that part # again. Dealer says they are $7.76 ea. They have 6 in stock and will bringthem to me tomorrow.
