Good call. F40 was blown. Back out to the garage to try again.

So, in order for the fan to come on, the engine will have to be up to operating temp so the PCM will call for it to be on?

What happens when the temp drops below operating temp? Will the fan shut off even though the switch is on?

I have another question, is it possible to wire it up with just a switch, i dont want to start cutting and grounding wires i just wanted to be able to turn the fans on whenever i wanted.

Good question. Is it that simple? I am a little lost with everything so far.

For S&G's I grounded 86 on the PCM and high speed relay.
ORIGINAL: 157db
About the only thing you could have damaged with the S&G you did
would be to cause a short to 12VDC and F40 would have popped.
Grounding improperly hooked up wires in this situationcannot harm
the PCM in any way.
Good call. F40 was blown. Back out to the garage to try again.
OK, your S&G test was with the wire in the 86 terminal of theHiSpeed fan
relay #20 and F40 blew. I woulduse terminal 85 on theHiSpeed fanrelay.
You have already determined that the 12VDC feed to theHiSpeedrelay
is terminal 86 by blowing F40.
And use terminal 86 on thePCM relay.

Now for the HiSpeed relay. With the key on and the engine not running, confirm
that the cooloing fan is not running and check the HiSpeed relay wire for 12VDC.
It should show 12VDC with the HiSpeed cooloing relay off and no voltage with
the HiSpeed fan relay on. You will have to get up to operating temp for the PCM
to call for HiSpeed cooling.

No that was just a test to find the correct wire.
The fan will run until you flip the switch off or
the battery dies, which ever comes first.

We are talking about pulling two relays in the BEC under the hood and
inserting 20 gage wires into a terminal under each relay. It seems to be
terminal #86 on the PCM relay #20 and terminal #85 on the HiSpeed
fan relay #25. Reinsert the relays in the sockets they came out of and
ground the wireswith a DPST switch and itsthat simple.
No cutting wires of any kind. Totally reversable. No hack jobs here.

OK, cool. If this works, I'm going to have to find a way to repay you. You've been very patient. You don't know how much I appreciate that.

A month later.
Did you have any luck with the constant fan mod?

If the darn electrical diagram I have printed for the 2007 was not different
from the online one thats available, it would be pretty simple.
I see that you have an 2006 stang.
Lets go about this in a different way.
http://iihs.net/fsm/?dir=40&viewfile...ling%20Fan.pdf
Remove PCM relay #20 and insert a wire into terminal 86 and reinstall the relay.
Now remove the HiSpeed fan relay #25 and insert a wire into terminal 85 and
reinstall the relay. With the key off, use a TEST LIGHT and checkthe PCM relay
wire for 12VDC. If the wire is correctly hooked up, you should see 12VDC with
the key off but see no voltage when the key is turned on.
If you now ground that wire with the key off, the PCM relay should click on.

Or you can ohm between the Brown/Pink wire on C1035B on the bottom of the BEC
and the 85 & 86 terminals for the PCM relay to find the correct terminal # to connect to.

Same with the HiSpeed fan relay. Ohm between the LiteGreen/Violet wire on C1035C
on the bottom of the BEC and the 85 & 86 terminals to find the correct terminal #
to connect to.
I tried this today and the pcm relay only has power to pin 87 with the key off and and 85 as well with the key on so does mean it will be correct to ground pin 86 . I did test with a test light . I have not heated the engine yet to test but I do know the fan part is correct becouse if I turn the key on engine off and flip the switch the fan will run even while cold .
