Default Back to the Basics (Bolt-ons)

I know, I know,
I am the newbie. I just bought an 06 GT, My third mustang. I have had a 90' LX 5.0 and a 95 cobra. However, this is my first 4.6L and I'm never looking back.

The only performance related part I have on my car currently is FLowmaster axle back exhaust. I'm looking to purchase a brenspeed CAI/ tuner combo (C&L or Steeda), Steeda underdrives, Pypes o/r h-pipe and possibly a Throttle body.

Does any one know the approximate gains of this setup?
Is there a noticable difference with and with out the throttle body if you don't have aftermarket cams or blower/nitrous?
FYI- cams will be coming in the distant future.

Thanks ahead of time for the input!

How far do you want to go with this car? These motors have real potential... Get a blower and thank me later

450HP at the wheels is the goal at some point. But everyone has to start somewhere. Believe me I know what a blower can do. I'm an engine design engineer for big yellow. At work I'm usually in the turbo world with diesels though.

I just need to get a good foundation going to keep me happy for a while so I can get the appearance and suspension handled. Then we'll hit the big numbers, no doubt in my mind!

I'd do the suspension first. I am a fan of BMR, this will at least get what you have to the ground

Try searching around on the forums, there are plenty of topics regarding this.

Here's what I got for you though...

1. Bamachips C&L "Racer" Intake/SCT Tuner
2. Forget doing the pullies if you intend on blowing your car.
3. Throttle bodies are a paper weight for these cars.
4. The Pypes O/R H will give you some sound with those Flows, you could always just cut your cats...
5. Don't waste your times with cams. They are too expensive for the hp/tq they net. Plus the stockers hold up fine.

Though, if your smart you won't waste money with boltons, and just save for a S/C..or whatever...

Well thanks for all the input. After talking with Brenspeed today, I just ordered the Steeda Underdrives, C&L Street CAI, SCT X3 Tuner, and the Pypes O/R h-pipe. These were all highly recomended by brenspeed as a solid combination.

LAK3RS, Thanks for the extra pointers. But the blower will come in the picture a few years down the road. So I just got the pulleys while I had the credit card out.

I'll letall of youknow how it goes.

Ditto on the right track. And ditto to trashing the TB idea. Don't forget some wider wheels and sticky tires.
