Well I dont want to spend over $1300 on the system and tune (and whatever else I need). I am installing the kit myself. Is this doable?

You have a C&L intake, so you must have a tune. Chances are you're running some pretty advance timing. If you were on the stock tune, then you'd be OK with a 75 shot maximum. Otherwise, you're risking detonation. Best to get it tune for safety.

An RPM switch will either come with the kit (NOS includes one) or cost $150 or so. You just can't run a safe system without one.

Other safety components are pretty cheap. A blow down tube is about $20. The bottle adapter was maybe $10. My fuel pressure safety switch (30 psi Edlebrock) was $20, but I needed a $15 adapter.

I have the zex kit and it seems to work good. You set it up so it will only activate at full throttle. If you plan to shoot a 75 shot, I would get a tune. For as cheap as the kit is and as cheap as dyno time is, get the thing tuned. I think the stock fuel pump can handle 150 shot. Or i should say i know it can. You will love the 75 shot so much, that you will want more. So i suggest get a tune for 75 and for 125 or 150. You wont be disappointed. jt

Will the decrease in perfomance while on gas will be a big difference?
