Default 08 Mustang intake problem

I have an 08 mustang GT around 5000 miles. I put on a K&N air charger. But here is a recent problem. It keeps getting lose at the engine. I keep tightening it, and yesterday I was driving and it fell off as I was on the road. I am not sure how long i was driving like that but I stopped at a light and the car started running ****ty and shut off on me. I understand it shut off because the air sensor wasn’t getting any air so it wasn’t providing enough fuel. My assumption is it couldn’t have been off for more then a few min because I am thinking i would have felt it right away? Also I am worried that I could have screwed something up in the engine? Any input on this situation?

i would tend to agree, it probably
wasn't off that long...

i wouldn't drive it any more tho, until you
figure out a way to secure it

The exact instant it started running like crap is the moment that it fell off. You didn't screw anything up from this. It has happened before with me on a pickup and rough road. Just put it back on and maybe hire some WWF guy to torque it down for you.

Same thing occured with my Steeda. It happened to me when I first installed mine. Seems that on mine, the clamp at the throttle body wasn't seated properly. After taking that section of the CAI apart, inspecting and paying particular attention to the re-install, it was fine.
