2007 and Led third brake light
I have an 07 Mustang GT and I put an LED third brake light on it about a month age and last night I came home and went to get in the trunk and noticed the third brake light was on. It was real dim but it was on. Anybody have a fix for this.

Yea, I had almost the same kind of problem with my Eclipse when I switched over to LEDs all the way around. More than likely when the trunk is open power is bleeding back through the ground from the trunk lightpowering up the LED in your 3rd brake light. I had so many problems I just went back to the normal bulbs.

Thats semiconductor leakage.
Filiment bulbs dont light with
the small semiconductor leakage
current but LEDs do. You can put
a resistor in parallel with the third
brake light wires. This will bleed the
leakage current to ground but not
inhibit the LEDs operation.

Yea, good call, thats kinda what I was told but by the time I was told what the problem was I was seriously pissed after spending all the $$ on LEDs & had given all the bulbs away.

If the resistor is put in parallel, wouldn't the current take the path of least resistance, namely the LED's? I would have thought putting one in series would do it.
