Wideband A/F gauge install questions.
So I've looked everywhere on the internet to try and research how to do this correctly before starting the install. I understand everything that needs to be done but the only questions I have are about the three extra wires for the optional features.
Brown wire(Optional Peak/Recall and Warning WOT Switch): I understand what this does but I need to know if its worth it and where I hook it up on the engine. I understand it goes to the Throttle Switch but where is that and how will I know what wire to splice into?
Blue Wire(Optional Data Logger Signal Output)
Blue/Black Wire(Optional Data Logger Signal Ground): I know that these two wires go to the same place. But I have know idea where the Engine Management System is or a Data Acquisition Unit is. Do I need to buy something extra to hook these up? Is it worth it or should I just ground these out.
I just want the gauge to work right, what should I do with these three wires?

RE: Wideband A/F gauge install questions.
might help if you mention what brand gauge you have??
i have a AEM,the data log wires are for a lap top or palm pilot with logging software, you dont hook them up to the car at all.
the brown wire is optional and does not get hooked up either.
power, ground and the sensor harness is all you need to get it up and going.

Ya I have the Auto meter, but thats what I figured. So I'll just ground out the data logger wires and brown one. Thanks

RE: Wideband A/F gauge install questions.
To get power to my gauges I hooked them up to the headlights so when ever I turn my headlights on the light on the gauge comes on (yellow wire).
To turn the elec fuel pump gauge on with the ignition I hooked that up to the black wire on the ignition harness. I will be hooking the Wideband A/F to the same wire because I know it works, and I can use the same inline fuse holder to protect the gauge from any power surges. Unlike many of the wires on the ignition harness this one stops power as soon as I turn the car off, this way the gauge wont stay on like the radio does until you open the doors.
