Default Should I change the oil?

I just bought a Tungsten Grey 2007 GT that has less than 4,000 miles. I don't see any stickers that show that the oil has ever been changed. If I take it to a Ford dealer can he look it up and see if the oil had been changed at a Ford dealer? The car has an in service date of August 2007.

The dealer gave me the name and phone number of the previous owner but I have called several times and I always get an answering machine. I left a message that I wanted to ask him about the car but so far no reply.

Since you just bought it, I'd go ahead and change it so you can ensure that is has been done.

That should be automatic for any used car purchase (even one with low miles). What are talkin, $65? I'd just go ahead and do it so that I know it's done and it'snow on my schedule.

At 4K miles, you should be able to see some discoloration of the oil, but change it anyway to the brand you desire. Make it yours.

Technically doesn't Ford recommend the first oil change at 5000 miles?

Change it now, decide what oil you want to use and stay with it.
