Alright so I have a 06 manual GT, w/ 2 1/2 xpipe and 4 inch Corsa viper tips.... Thats it...

I need some help picking out my mods... I'm a newb and have little time to research or understand much about cars. I want mods that aren't going to f**k up my engine fast and its a DD. If you could please add how much RWHP gains your mod's will probably add it would be much appriciated

CAI and tune, one piece DS, gears, and short throw shifter. Any suspension components to get all the power to the ground.

CAI/tune about $600 and install yourself

the DS price varies but drop 20+ pounds from the driveshaft and less rotational mass means more HP to get the ground. So about $575 and have someone install (200 maybe?)

Gears 3.73 or 4.10 and get installed by a pro. cost plus gears should not be over $500 dollars -(get a guarantee that they will not whine)

Short throw shifter for $300 (MGW) and install yourself......Tacobill has a write up on the main page of the 2005+ section.

Supplement any of the suspension components for any of the above that you dont want and you are well on your way to 300+ RWHP

What mygt500 said plus Steeda underdrive pulleys. Although I already have 3.55s and did not get lower gears, my car drives great with the mods mentioned here.

i would say cai+ tune for absolutely sure then mgw shifter cause they are so much fun then gears and since its your dd i would say no ds just for the fact you can have get ALOT of vibrations and they are just a pain in the *** when this happens... ive had some ds issues in the past and i wish i just hadnt gotten it

Fastford20- r u lowered?....did u install the DS or a pro? What is your pinion angle and was it checked before and after......IMO the DS is a great mod and many have had no issues and installed them at home or on their own. JMO but food for thought

These are words spoken by a very wise man....it's all covered here just address by budget although I would place gear 1st on the list if you're looking to get the best SOTP feel. A CAI + FULL exhaust GEARED S197 GT is mental vs a 3.31 or 3.55 geared stocker. Get a tune after you've installed the intake and exhaust, auto or manny tranny itdoesn't matter, the mod list still applies. It will transform your car from Caddy"Stang" to "Monster" for about 2 grand...

+1 for the exhaust if you're on a budget. Power + Beastly Sound = great fun.

See my sig.

CAI/Tune + gears before anything. Then I'd look at some LCA's and the DS. Those mods made the biggest difference.

BTW - I am not lowered and have not experienced any problems with DS.

UDP's, the shifter andtorque limiters werenice cheap upgrade, but I'd do them later.

Shorty Headers - 350
Off Road H Pipe - 200
Axle Back Flows - 350
CAI + Tuner - 600
Lowering Springs - 250

Total cost $1,750.00

With the exception of maybe the springs, you can probably install most of that yourself or with a friend. You said youre a newb so I'd definately take your time with it and make sure you're making safety a priority. Last thing you want to do is get under a car without jack stands.

You're car will sound like a mean Mother F**ker and be faster than stock

Best of luck with whatever you do bro

I wouldnt worry about shorty headers yet...

I agree with mygt500... CAI/Tune is top of the list. Gears are next. I do agree with lowering it. and I also do agree with the driveshaft!!! (love mine)... and make sure you check the pinion angle before/after like stated. driveshaft is a very good mod if its installed properly...

Horsepower wise, you are probably lookin at anywhere from 280 to 295 to the wheels? I dont know what your car has stock. But the bottom line is, that setup will get you going... so brace yourself...
