i thought it might be road noise,it is alittle bit louder then stock, but this noise is metal to metal noise, also the shifter came with blue plastic in the piece that arm goes trough from the shift arm should put 2 stock ones in?

I just installed the new Hurst billet model, and no problems. It uses the two stock bushings in the shifter arm.....
The only other thing I can think of is the rear mount to those small studs....as mentioned in an above post.

thanks for everybodys help, i found what was making the noise. Since i bought the car new in the spring i thought there was something wrong in the drive line.the transmission was not centered right, i backed off the 4 bolts off that hold the crossmember and the transmission moved to the left 1/4 inch now everything is fine the bolt that holds the arm to the transmission was hitting the body very slightly.Feels great now. thanks once again this forum rocks

Glad to hear you resolved it! Had to be a tough one! I was thinking about that bolt but, figured you would have check to see it was tight. Never would have thought the tranny could be misaligned. That's got to be a new one for the books! Nice find!
