Who has the most hp/tq on a stock block?

I tend to think in this case that driving habits have more to do with it than a tune, not to say a tune doesn't play a part though. I'm sure with about 500whp you can drive like a granny and have the engine last forever, or drive like a bat out of hell and explode within a few weeks.

At 300 rwhp you will put more stress on the internals if it detonates than you will with 600 rwhp if it doesnt.
If the engine never/ever detonates it will live. However very few engines have zero detonation ever.
Ever time it does its 100 times more damaging.
The tune, driving habits, just how good the original engine is, and pure dumb luck all play a roll.

in response to the OP.. dunno who is doing it but 500rwhp on stock internals/block is being done.. and dunno their driving habits..
whats the point of the question now? If you want to match/beat that it probably wouldn't be recommended unless you can buy a new engine if you need to. stick to the standard safety guideline of 450rwhp.

When my motor went it took out some of the valves along with it and puked coolant and oil into my intercooler, causing more labor.
So I could have saved about ~$1500 if I had just brought the car in prior to the explosion.

You can save some $$ by doing the stroker prior to blowing it up if that's your plans.
