Help with locked rear brakes
Hey guys,
Yesterday, I replaced the stock lines and pads. Last night I went to burnish the pads in and found that the rears were locked up. At first I thought I messed up putting the parking brake cable back on the caliper, but that wasn't it. I used the proper tool to compress the rear caliper pistons, I bled the system and I torqued everything to spec (Ford). What else could be the problem?
Any help?
Thanks,
Jim

RE: Help with locked rear brakes
Thought I'd update anyone who is interested. I found the problem. The banjo fitting on the new rear lines is slightly thinner than the stock fitting. When I torqued the brake line fitting down, the bottom of the bolt went in too far and contacted the piston. [:@]Hopefully, I can fix it without another $200 added to the project.
