Angry Steeda CAI problem/concern

hey guys. i just bought a steeda CAI w/o the tuner. i didnt have the money to get both. this is my first mod. ok so here is the problem. i installed the intake, everything went together smoothly. at start up it has a put put sound to the exhaust at idle. the test drive... everything is ok under normal driving conditions but when i get on the gas it hesitates fairly long and then you can feel the power but its not smooth at all. feels kinda rough. i no an intake is not supposed to feel like this from experience with other cars.

has anyone experienced this at all. im taking it out becuz i am afraid of damaging the engine. do i need the tuner for it to run correctly?

your steeda intake NEEDS a tune!!
The MAF is oversized and therefore the computer cannot deal with the extra air.
You MUST run a tune for that intake or you WILL lean out the motor and cause detonation and damage.
The stumbling is from the motor trying to save itself from the knock sensor kicking in and pulling timing
PUT THE FACTORY INTAKE ON UNTILL YOU GET A TUNE

Put the stock airbox back on before you blow it up. Get the appropriate tune(I'll sugest Brenspeed) then reinstall.

yea i took it out. right away cuz the car is brand new with 2K miles. i figured the problem was too much air. so the tune will surely clear up the all of these unfortunate problems =( the the SCT from brenspeed good cuz i thought about ordering that tuner

Yea, the adaptive learning adapted to the Steeda CAI.
Disconnect the Negative battery cable for 20 minutes
then drive it as the owners manual says to after battery
replacement.

I just installed a Vortech Supercharger and no longer need my SCT XCAL3 with three Brenspeed tunes (less that 7 months old) PM me and lets talk.
