I went the route of the FRPP Hot Rod Cams with the heavy lope. They are NSR and I did not loose any torque or HP. I love mine!
Bottom line is that you need to figure out what you are looking for. Higher HP, where in the RPM curve, what you are going to do with the car, etc. For me, I am not doing racing, I want street performance in the lower torque range, nice intimidating sound that turns heads, etc. I got what I wanted. As far as cost... things are never quite as simple as you think. Cams alone plus install are not the entire cost. You also need to consider the tune or dyno tune. See below what I did for recent mods at my local Ford dealer and the related costs.

The cam price was close to $800. Note the prices below are for labor unless specified otherwise. The only other item that I had engine performance wise prior to the work below is a BBK CAI that is not listed.

Outcome - Torque was fairly flate starting at 280+ at 2800 rpm and peaked at 313.0 around 4200-4400 rpm range and did not taper too bad. Bottom torque fell to 250 at 6300 rpm.

HP was about 150 at around 2800 then peaked at 302.5 at about 5200 rpm. HP did not fall below 300 through 6300 rpm.

Mods that were added this round and the install prices (labor only) were:
FRPP Hot Rod Cams - $337.50 (Plus $125 for sensor part that I did not supply.)
BBK Ceramic Polished Shorty Headers - $375
Steeda Red Powder Coated Valve Covers - Included in cams above
Steeda UDP - $112.50
FRPP 3.73 Gears - $487.50
Dyno tune $250 and used my SCT X3 Tuner

I will also tell you that I had the install performed about a month ago and have put around 700 miles on the car. I have been twice for a NC State inspection and keep getting the "Not Ready" status dealing with the O2 Sensor, Cats, and O2 Sensor Heaters. If you do decide to do this install and use a custom tune and if you are subject to emissions testing, ask them to provide you with an emissions tune also. I understand that some tuners such as SCT and others may have the rear O2 sensors turned off or may have some of the checks disabled that the computer goes through during initialization (start up) which could cause these error conditions. It is simple enough to get a fix or tune to correct, you just need to be aware of and ask for in advance to save yourself some headaches.

I just had the new Comps Thumpr cams installed. There is a post on them in this sub forum and I posted a dyno sheet there. I got a 60 HP to the rear wheel increase in performance and the sound is awesome. There will be a video and sound clip on youtube tomorrow.

If you can wait for them, it will be worth it.
