MPG Drop
#11
I understand not wanting to get completely horrid MPG if the car is a DD and you have a long drive like me. I would not want to get like 15 or less with my 100 mile a day drive. Ouch! But at the same time, we all knew what we were getting into when buying a GT. It's a V8 muscle car and if you think this is going to be a gas saver, think again!
Going up and down 1 to 2 MPG every so often is normal for any vehicle. There's SO MANY factors that will change your ave MPG. Most of the time I see the same number, but sometimes it's up by 1 or down by 1. When I got gas today it was down by 1. I did get a new CAI so maybe that was it. Or it could be b/c of school starting back and traffic is worse. Or it could be a lot of other things. Maybe the past week I was gassing it more often due to me getting unlucky and always getting stuck behind slow people. Who knows.
If your MPG dropped like 6 or more I could see a cause for alarm (unless it's for good reason like the addition of a s/c'er). But 1 to 2 up/down is typical.
I say, put the pedal to the medal and enojy the ride...while you still can.
SUCKING GAS AND HAULING ***! -- I need that on my rear window, LOL.
BTW, I vary between 20 and 22. A few times I seen nearly 23. This is a mix of half city and half highway (and driving quite aggressively most of the time too).

My Stang is my distance driver and it averages about 5 MPG HIGHER than my 6 cylinder SUV. Since I drive the Stang only 1-2 trips/month at 1,000 miles/trip, it's a gas saver for me.

Sure the common thought may be Mustang=Power...
but I come across customers all the time that are looking for an Economy Specific Custom Tune.
There are several things that can be altered in your computer to acheive better mpg than stock.
