HIGH IDLE WITH STEEDA CAI

HIGH IDLE WITH STEEDA CAI
To all you out ther with the Steeda CAI and Predator, I just downloaded the latest version (r14) and installed it. Whether you use the new 91 octane tune or the 93 octane yune you idle will be set at 844rpm in park or in drive! I noticed this today while stopped at a light the car felt like it wanted to take off, fwlt a little harder to stop because of this also. I reflashed back to stock and found stock idle to be 750 rpm park and approx 650 rpm drive. I modified the tune to these parameters and reflashed about 154 min ago. Car feels much better now. Thought i'd give everyone a heads up. I'm not sure why Diablosport did this or maybe it's an oversight on there part. Let me know if anyone else noticed this. Thanks

RE: HIGH IDLE WITH STEEDA CAI
Are you using a Steeda branded Predator or a U7140 Predator? I assume you are using a Steeda branded one because of the release you are posting about. I use the U7140, am still back on release r14 ( r21 is the current ), and don't have an automatic. So to address your PM, I really can't be much help bud. Have you tried calling Diablo?

RE: HIGH IDLE WITH STEEDA CAI
I haven't called diablo, but I will today. I thought it was just easier to lower the idle myself. Yes I have a Steeda predator. The most recent update on their site is r14. I'll let you know what they said.

RE: HIGH IDLE WITH STEEDA CAI
I spoke to someone named Cole at diablosport. Told him my problem. He said that some people were having idle that jumped up and down if accessories such as A/C were turned on, so they set te idle at 850. He sais stock idle is 740 neutral, 600 drive. He said if I send him my CALID, which I did, he'll email me a custome tune. Fair enough I guess. But no, I didn't press him on the issue of why they would do something so stupid in the first place. SOME people have a problem, so they make EVERYONE suffer with a stupid "FIX". That's the same shotgun mentality that makes it illegal for me to drive with a cell phone because SOME morons can't talk and drive at the same time. I wish I didn't update in the first place. I mean it's not like the car didn't run great before.
Buyer beware, newer isn't always better.
