Default Pypes or Magnaflow Mid muffler?

So.....I got a great quote from my exhaust guy (Discount Muffler in Tucson, AZ) on a custom built mid muffler setup. I was planning on ordering the M80 mufflers from pypes, but I was thinking about the Magnaflow parts too.

Both brands have the same size and they look really similar. Can anyone compare the two setups? The pypes have a great reputation for little to no drone, how about the Magnaflow?

Oh yeah...I'm planning on having a FRPP X installed as well.

Thanks for the help everyone...I just want to have this all done already!!!!!

Get the Pypes mid muffler. It's like having sex of the ear.

hey thewarmachine...do you know that guy, or did you find it on youtube?

I want to know if the magnaflows have any drone. I do 90% freeway commuting.

drone = bad.

I have the magnpack cat/axle back system. I do 90-95% hwy driving 5 days a week. Because I have 4.10s I am usually out of the drone zone on the hwy; nonetheless, the drone is not as bad as many people pereceive.

The m80 would probably drone too if it were an axleback. I think the placement of it in the mid section eliminates most of the drone.

Edit- Why do you want to go with a x-pipe?

Because I already have it. lol. I had bought it for my 4.0....but i found a killer deal on a prochamber and installed that instead. Now that the 4.0 is gone, I have this pretty x pipe sitting in the garage collecting dust.

I was under the assumption that x pipes are good for straight thru exhausts and H pipes are good for chambered mufflers.

What do you think Sonic?

Just get the pypes, no noticeable drone. I hear more drone in second gear at 2k rpms than I do in 5th gear at the same rpms.
