I ended up with a full MAC exhaust. I got a new prochamber for $200 and figured I might as well go with matching headers and cat back at that point.

The MACs drone like hell, but they sound soooo good. Its a wash.

I saw a thread about 2 years ago where someone (mAnYsTyLeS, I think) had a set of Kooks resonators installed with his Macs, and that cured the drone entirely without taking away any sound quality. You may wan to pm him.

That Powerstick mid-muffler setup did a good job of bringing out a true exhaust note. You've gotta have that flutter of thumps in an exhaust, and rear mufflers just don't cut it.

I have a couple cats from MRT I bought when I purchased all my MAC stuff. I was never a big fan with O/R setups, but I have to admit, I love the MACs with the Prochamber and no cats. I can actually hear the LTs now, that nice deep hollow sound.

I'm still in debate about having the cats put in, not cause of drone, but cause its pretty loud. Next spring I'll be adding the FRPP cams or the Comp Thumpers and if I add the cats, I'm worried it'll take away from the sound, loud or not.

The hollow sound I believe is the prochamber and not the LT's, if you are describing what I think you are.

I had a prochamber on my 99 with stock manifolds and shorty's and that sound stayed the same. At light throttle I dont think the prochamber gets enough flow so it does not cross over as well. It is a unique sound to the prochamber, but not bad IMO, just different.

The LT's might make it more pronounced though I am not sure.

Well after everything we have been talking about I decided to just get a Pypes O/R H :}

I watched darkfireGT's vid about a 100 times

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SM3EVQraxbI

I already have the violators and it looks like he used a good camera so I hope the sound is close.

This way I dont end up with a set of mufflers to sell and I only have $350 in the exhaust. If I keep it a year I will be happy.

If I get any drone, I am going to weld in 12-18" Dynomax race bullets before the axle.

Vids to come when I get a chance to install it.
