headers

i was looking to get headers but i dont know if i want to get shortys or long? and whats the differents?

EagleStroker 09-17-2008 07:42 PM

shorts don't offer near the gain, anythings better than stock. Lt's are the best, but are harder than a cam swap in our cars lol you need access to a lift or a day in the garage, but they have much better flow/sound/should see hp gains depending on what else your running

I went the LT route with the Kooks from Brenspeed. The local shop that I use has installed several shorties only to swap them out later for LT's. However, others have had great experiences with the shorties. Just my preference is all.

^^^ What they said and shorties are still just as much a PITA as LTs to install. Remove motor mounts rock motor a little each side, remover starter, remove steering shaft, etc., etc., etc. Good Luck!

PLEASE, if you're going to spend the &^%$n time installing those &^^n things like I did, don't make the same &*^^n mistake I did. Just get &^%n LT's!! It's the same amount of &^%n work!

Hey i put on the JBA shorties so i can put in a Turbo later. I did feel the difference form stock to shorties. I do agree the LT will gain you more overall power but the mid to low is all shorties.

are you able to have cats with LT's? im trying to get a feel for my what-to-buy-list will have on it when i do my exhaust

drbobvs 09-18-2008 01:48 PM

Yes, many manufacturers make their matching midpipe catted.

EagleStroker 09-18-2008 01:51 PM

I have BBK LT's with their x-pipe w/integrated cats, 2 3/4" mid pipes and magnaflows axle backs
