X pipe or H pipe
I want to do the piping on my gt but i cant decide whether i should go with an h pipe or x pipe. anyone have any suggestions or possibly know the differences between them in sound and performance?

i've heard x pipes give better hp #s and H pipes give a louder sound
but is there any gain from the X pipe swaps where you just cut out the stock H part and put in an X to the stock cats (can you gut mustang cats with like a pipe?)

H pipes give produce more power down low and X more up top. The power increase is not that much. Sound wise H pipe sound deeper were as X sound a little more raspy. With the correct set-up, both can sound very good.

your vehicle comes stock with h, so in my opinion why go with a new version of what you already have, but a h will sound louder and increase performance, x will be quieter than a h but will give a little better performance

Ok well I want something loud so I went with the h pipe for more sound. Should I go with the frpp stingers, slp loudmouths, or imco extreme? I read about imco for the first time here on the forum and everyone gave it pretty good reviews. I also read from brenspeed that the pypes h pipe with the slp loudmouths was the loudest and deepest combo heard so far on the gt. Any suggestions on that part?

A common great sounding setup on the S197(s) is the o/r h pipe mixed with the MAC flowpath axle back exhaust. It has a deeper growl and very little rasp. Interior drone complaints differs with individual opinions but I know I'm going to run the combo on my 08 GT. Check it out on youtube if you want to get an idea of the different setups and sounds.
