Default 89 Tune

Has anyone tried the 89 torque tune from Bama? If so, how does it compare to the others? We only have 87, 89, 93 here.

Thanks

Those are my 3 Brenspeed tunes. I run the 89 about 90% of the time. IMO, my 89 pulls harder in the lower RPM bands whereas the 93 pulls harder up top. My 89 feels better for "normal" driving.

I have the 91 torque, you'll love it. His tunes ROCK! Be prepared for neck-snapping shifts.

I used to run Doug's 89 tq tune, but now I switch between the 91 tq and race tune. From what I can recall, the 89 tune is not a bad tune, but the 91 tunes pull harder throughout the entire RPM range.

i don't see why a lower octane would be better than a higher one? if they're both bama tq tunes.. why would there be a difference in RPM pulls? shouldn't both have more of a pull in low RPMs?

I want to go 91, but I haven't seen that grade of gas here.

Sorry, no. It's purely a seat-of-the-pants dyno. The differences between tunes are usually rather subtle so I wouldn't get your panties twisted over it. If you're going to the track or autoX, then definately run the higher octane tune.

According to Doug there is about a 3-5 hp difference between each octane tune, so a 91 tune will yield about 3-5 more hp than an 89 tune.

Well I went ahead and ordered the SCT 3 from Bama with 87 performance, 89 torque, and 93 performance tunes. Needless to say I can't wait until it arrives. Thank you all for the great information.
