I run about 11 psi on the stock block and internals! No issues yet but have the money to forge if motor gives out on me..... something everyone needs to consider when going with FI.... JMO

According to whipple, you can use 8-12psi pulleys with the supplied tune without the need for a custom tune. That is what I was told by whipple. I've been using the 8psi pulley to save gas, but i'm going back to 10 now that i have a gas sipping motorcycle.

+1 to wishing I had $6K sitting around
One of the users here on this board blew his stock engine with a Saleen. He had, I think, 12 pounds going at the time when it sploded. The user is kolb02.

That's a saleen, obviously not a whipple and he had a lot of other mods as well. Not to mention he was using a pulley that should make more than 12psi on the saleen, but due to his altitude/exhaust/etc., he was only reaching 12psi.
My point is that's a bad example of what a stock motor can handle. Maybe he will chime in with the pulley he was using, but I believe it was 3.0 inch or something close.

i agree with jared......besides there was a guy a while back in the MM&FF mag that was running a procharged stock motor at 18.5psi. a guy named chad miller from illinois ran a 10:43/131 in the quarter....not too shabby for a bone stock motor
