Question for you Whipple guys (an other TS people as well)
How much boost do you run and are you inter-cooled or not? I've been looking at the kit and some are inter-cooled and others are not. I just want to see the consensus about the cooling. I know that the 5 psi 400hp kit is not inter-cooled but the 11 psi 500 hp kit is. At what point do you need to start inter-cooling or should you always inter-cool? Additionally, I live in Florida, so temperatures can get quite hot especially in the summer. Thanks!

go w/ the IC. it's always better, heat is bad. i see around 8-9 psi on my HO kit, bc i have recently got a bigger pulley on mine bc i put on an 8 rib kit and a friend of mine had a cobra pulley lying around so it saved me money using his, but before i was seeing 10-11 psi w/ the stock SC pulley. also, getting the IC w/ the kit will save you money compared to if you buy it later seperately.

Cool beans guys! (Literally). Thanks for the input, and I'll make sure that my system is inter-cooled. Thanks!

onederful100, is the HO the 500 hp kit or is it the 400 hp? Also, when the kits say 500 hp or 400 hp are they talking about rear wheel horsepower or engine horsepower? The kit doesn't really make it clear. Thanks again!

Engine HP.

Thanks SirKnightTG. Also, I really like the Stock wheel crew member line in your sig. It made me laugh! :)

Yeah there's someone on here that put stock antenna crew in their sig so it got me thinking. ;)
There's someone else that has anti-crew crew. :D |
well moose started the downshifting crew, so
i started the antenna and wheel crew....but nobody showed up, so i quit those crews |
