Default help with rpm problem

hi all.heres my problem.i got my mustang for 3 moth but it started doing some funny stuff.OK when i am on the gas and let off the rpm's are fine and start drooping normal but it shot down and come back up. its like when the car down shift but its not. lets say am at 4000 rpm and just riding not on the gas it shot down to like 3500rpm and then it go back up.it started after i clean my CAI filter with that k&n cleaner. i was told that i got oil from the cleaner on the CAI sensor so i replace the sensor but it still do it not as much.but it bug the sh*t out of me.anybody have any ideas what can it be

It's possible that your new MAF sensor also got coated with oil. Spray it with some MAF sensor cleaner(You do not have to replace it).
Also, recommend recleaning and reoiling the air filter, but this time go lighter on the oil.

thanks i will do that and i will just replace the filter

Over oiling the filter is very easy to do. Spraying the MAF sensor with contact cleaner should do the trick providing you don't re-contaminate it. You may also want to try resetting the adaptive learning by lifting the battery cable for 15-20 minutes. It should relearn with about 20 miles of driving and you might be surprised to find a bit more pep.

ok good to know.but by taking the batt cable off for that long would it do something with the scorpion predator program or would it be find?

thats kind whats been happening to me its like it going to cut off then the rpm come back up. i will try a cople of things this week end.thanks
