Default Resonators

This question is for people with the O/R H or X. I have the Pypes H and I'm running it with flowmasters. It sounds good, alot better than the X did but it's still too raspy and trumpets badly at 2500 rpm.

My question is what exactly the resonators will do. I know what they do, I'm asking what exactly will they clean up on our cars? Will the trumpeting go away? Will it be a cleaner sound? Will it get quieter?

Also I know Tombstand was talking about this. Has anyone mounted resonators ON the H or X before the crossover?

Thanks alot, Scott

I didnt end up getting my m-80 mounted before I put them in the regular spot due to clearance issues but If you add resonators to your set up now I dotn really think it will make a diff where they are Im pretty sure they will do there job just fine.

Are the Pypes M-80 mufflers considered resonators? I have the Pypes MM's and since installing the Kooks LT w/cat'd H it trumpets like crazy. Just curious if I could add the resonators with the M-80's?

Heavyg72 the M-80s essentially are resonators. To add more resonators you would have to mount them on the H which could be difficult with little room b/c of the longtubes. Or you could always add mufflers and keep the m-80s.

Tombstang, so you think mounting the resonators before the crossover would work? An you think it would clear up the raspyness and trumpeting?

yes its basically going to sound similar to the stock h pipe just with a lil more grunt to it. If you have the MM I suggest running a x pipe rather then H they seem to trumpet less IMO, but either add resonators or hi-flow cats and your problem should be solved.

I am not a fan of the flows on the s197, unless its with LT and a catted x then they are ok, pretty smooth .

Yea I don't got mid mufflers, you think the resonators will quiet it down that much? I figured just a little and a cleaner sound. As far as the flows I'm more than aware of you're feelings on them haha.
