The selection for 275/50 is especially crappy.

Got it (mostly, anyway). And thanks - it made me look a little harder, which is usually a good thing .

In 275/40 acceptability is going to depend on the manufacturer and possibly the specific tire model. Most of the Tire Rack listings that come up to the top of a size search want 9" minimum but there's at least one at 8.5".

275/45 looks to be generally OK.

Tire Rack apparently does not carry 275/50-18, but the still taller sidewall makes it easier to justify fitting to 8.5".

I should've clarified. 275/50/R17. It's perfect for those of us who aren't lowered and have 17" wheels. Unfortunately there is only 2 or 3 models to choose from in that size.

2350 would be real nice lol.

Right now with the stock tires with the OD off it's right about 2800@75-80mph auto,
C & L racer brenspeed 90 oct. tune.

I might not even run the CS/18S but might go with 16s all around..might look weird but should weight alot lighter.

If not,I don't mind the increased RPMs with the gear change over,I'll just remember to cruise slower to keep the RPMs down some...that should be enough.

I only checked Tire Rack (they have the easiest navigaiton and probably the largest database). You might try Discount Tire, Vulcan Tire, or Nitto/Falken/and/or other brand names direstly.

I am running 275/40/20 on 20x8.5" wheel. No problem. I'm thinking about going 285.

Need tires! Wires are showing!
