Default GTA's vs. GTB's

Recently picked up a set of GTA's on Ebay for cheap. During my research I found that Ford now has a new set of mufflers specificly for the Bullit Mustangs. The Shelby GTA's are part# 5230-GTA while the Bullit's are 5230-GTB. Has anyone out there heard the difference between these two mufflers in person? I'm curious to know what the difference is? I like the difference the GTA'a gave me over the stock but the GTB's intrigue me.

Input is needed!

I think the GTBs are the ones that come stock with the Bullits....but I'm not completely sure.

you are correct.

The GTB mufflers (please correct me if i'm wrong) are the same as the GTA, but with different tips. The reason the Bullitt car sounds different is the H pipe has a baffle in it to lower the tone. Also, the Bullitt has a different intake that will make a little tonal difference.

The GTA's are a great set, you'll love 'em.

i've heard the "same muffler, different tip" story and the "slightly different sound" story. it'd be nice to hear from somebody who has heard them side by side.

I hafta think that the GTA and GTB's are different from what I heard in that second sound clip. I have BBK shorties, stock H and cats, and GTA's, and I sound NOTHING like that... Wish that I did, because I damn well might not be bored with my GTA's now.

I also thought I had read somewhere that the GT and Bullitt H pipes carry the exact same part number from Ford. Think it was a vendor on another forum that said that...

Yeah, the second clip, the sound is slightly higher pitched to me, but it is subtle.

I guess with different components in the exaust system, the same mufflers will sound different as well.

I have GTA's on my otherwise stock exhaust, and I like them, going to GTB's would seem like a lateral move, no real difference, and not worth spending more on mufflers again, unless the result was very different.
