Default break in period?

I just got an 08 GT, what is the general break-in period for the car, is there a fluid change interval at 500-1000 miles, or can I run on the factory fluids until the normal change intervals. Any recommendation of using synthetic or normal dino engine oil? Car has 10 miles

There is no breakin period. I drove mine hard when I left the lot. I changed all of the fluids after 3000 miles. My personal choice is synthetic.

The break-in period is to drive off the lot and go to the track.

Our Stangs don't come with "regular dino oil". They come with synthetic blend. Go with the blend or full synthetic with your first oil change at your convenience. The old mind-set that there will be casting debris in our engines no longer holds water. However, I personally recommend the first oil and filter change at no more than 3,000 miles.

Mobil1 and a Motorcraft filter is all you need if you don't run track or cross-X. But you can be **** like me and use Amsoil oil and filter at twice the price.

Use the search feature. This topic is a common one.

Stomp on it. If it's gonna break, let it break when it's still under warranty lol

Honestly, like Nuke said above, the old problems of debris in a new engine are long gone. If there was anything in there, taking it easy on your engine for a couple thousand miles wouldn't stop it from messing anything up anyway... Just drive it and take it in for your first oil change at around 3k miles... Enjoy!!

There is a break in period for the CAR just not the engine really. other parts on the car like transmission and rear end should probably given some time before really romping away. This is from the manual

But going from 0-120 over and over isn't driving continuously at the same speed...
