Default is a tune needed with exhaust?

so today i decided i wanted to do something to my exhaust.. i went to my friends house and we ended up going over to Midas and asked them about a custom exhaust.. they said they could do it.. so i told them what i wanted.. straight pipes muffler delete.. at first they were trying to talk me out of it and pretty much did but then a different guy came over and started talking to me about it and said he could take off the muffler so i could see how it sounded and that would pretty much be what it would sound like.. so he did that and wow it sounded soooo good.. so of course, i decided to do it.. they welded some straight pipes and some big stainless steel very nice tips for me.. it took them about an hour and wasn't too expensive.. all in all I'm quite happy, for now at least lol until i get a ticket or something (hopefully that won't happen!)

so basically its like the pypes muffler delete exhaust only a much bigger tip, not diameter-wise but length-wise.. i'm pretty sure its 2.5" wide but like 10-12" long.. looks really nice =)

so am i gonna need a retune? i have the bamachips 93 torque tune for my C&L street CAI and actually on 18" wheels.. now i have 20" wheels and this exhaust.. actually with the wheels the speedometer is fine cuz i've gone past one of those radar things that show you how fast you're going and it was like exact to my speedometer, so i don't think i need a retune for that but do i for the exhaust?

straight pipes muffler delete.

Why would u do that? Exhaust tune? No probably not, but it never hurts to have the tune checked.

No offense meant, but your car is going to be heard miles away, and your not gaining any rwhp for the noise. So again why? I am making 430+ with full stock exhaust, if you just like the noise then that is OK, but if you are looking for a good gain in RWHP, then look some place elase.

no offense taken.. i totally understand what you mean but i wanted to make my stang louder, thats all really.. i wish i could have 430+ but i don't have that kinda money right now being a college student.. and the exhaust is loud, but only when i really put the gas on it.. if i just keep the rpms low its quiet.. and in 5th gear i can't even hear it unless i'm goin 100+ which i don't do a lot.. so basically i just put it in 5th when i'm just driving normally.. and i knew that there would be no real RWHP gain from any exhaust mod unless it was headers.. so basically why does anyone do axel back exhausts if they were lookin for just hp?
