Default Help With Gauges

Ok I just baught the speed of sound three gauge pillar but what gauges should I buy? I was thinking a boost gauge a fuel pressure gauge and air fuel. Should I get electric or mechanical, what is the difference between a narrow and wide band air fuel gauge other than the price. Any help would be appreciated.

I assume you are planning on FI as your sig doesnt list it.

If you are going FI I would recommend the following.

Autometer Mech boost/vac
Aeroforce Scan Gauge
Innovative Wide-band

his sig says Whipple HO coming soon... and both of those setups sound good. basically boost, a wide-band, and something else. maybe even an interceptor gauge.

Ok so I want an electric fuel pressure gauge. Are they more accurate than a mechanical, I was told that they dont respond as fast but could be wrong. Thanks for the help I want to get this done so I can get ready to install the whipple this winter while she is parked.

+1 on the Autometer Cobalt Mech boost gauge, easy to hook up, fits in the pod perfectly, for the A/F I went with the PLX AF/combo, looks great and is extremely accurate.

The reason you want an electric fuel pressure gauge is because of what a mechanical gauge entails. You would have to bring fuel into the cabin and have the pressure be physically read at the gauge. You don't want to bring things like fuel into the cabin should something go wrong with the gauge. So you get an electric gauge and measure the pressure at the source and use a sender to relay the information to the gauge in the cabin.
