Which Shifter?
I am upgrading my shifter on an 08/GT. I am leaning towards the Shelby or Roush, though I am open to any manufacturer. What do you guys think? Are there any to avoid getting? Which brand do you prefer? Thanx

Thats a loaded question!! You'll get evey answer under the sun on here. I personally have the hurst and I like it.....most will say it's notchy and it is. I here good things about the MGW. Then theres the steeda ones. Take your pick.....best bet is to find other s197 owners near you to see/feel the shifters.

i've heard amazing things about the MGW. the Tri-Ax is also supposed to be good. Hurst looks good, but notchy.

The Tri-Ax makes it a little difficult to get into reverse. Thats about it I have had no other issues.

i have the hurst and my opinion is that its notchy and tight also but i love that for the track...its also one of the shortest throws i have felt so far...as far as shifting it either your in gear or your out...nothing in between and if your out get the hell back in

MGW hands down. Best shifter on the market

+2 on the MGW here.
Only aftermarket I've had, but it is a solid product. I did alot of research on the aftermarket shifters before I took the plunge, the MGW always came out on top as far as satisfaction, least problems, etc. |

We have been continually making tweaks to the shifter over the years constantly improving it based on customer feedback. If you have an older shifter with the brass bushings and you still have the stock nylon bushings off the stock shifter we can upgrade you to the U-bracket design. Gus |
