Frpp hot rod cams vs comp thumper cams??????
#11
I would look at the Comp NSR stage II's or the stage I. Stage I gives you more low end torque around 25 while the stage II's give it up high around 25-32 hp. They don't sound like the thumpers or the FRPP hot rods though, but if its performance you want then go with Comp NSR's. Just my opinion...........

Good gosh, the more I read here and other places ( http://www.moddedmustangs.com/forums...wont-idle.html ) the more scared I become at the though of having a cam put in. Cars not idling right, dieing at red lights, check engine lights, etc...
I'm won't have mine done until I find a shop that has installed FRPP's many times - verified with references, etc.

You should be fine with FRPP. With the S197 models most of the issues are with the tune, not the parts (unless the part is completely off base or the engine was not modified to work with the part). The FRPP cams are made to work on an otherwise stock engine. Thumper has two series, one that works on a stock engine and one that requires the use of Phase limiters. Use the wrong thumper cam without the phase limiter and you will damage your engine.

I put the Hot Rods in my Saleen last weekend. With the exception of a little scare that turned out to be nothing the install was rather easy if you can follow directions. My wife drove the car about 350 miles this week to work and back and no check engine lights or anything wrong so far. I'm going to the dyno tomorrow to see how much hp its making. No matter what the hp numbers are, I'm already completely happy with the hot rod cams!!
