180MPH? Got a co-worker with a 2006 GT (big mods are cams and custom tune) that says he hit that number last Sunday. I am thinking that somewhere well above 500HP would be needed to do that. Anyone think that is possible? If any car could do that in this area I would say that it would be Brian Z's car as he is pushing well over that number. Although I don't think he would try doing 180MPH on I395 heading into DC.

I think aero dynamics play against the s197 too much at that speed...but I could be wrong.

I went to the Texas Mile, and there wasnt a single guy there hitting over 180mph with a blower on the STOCK motor.. highest i saw was 176 with a guy on a turbo he claimed 505rwhp. I saw a gt500 built block with a whipple 3.4 hit 196. Needless to say i call shenanigans with just cams and a custom tune.

yeah, the car has the power and the gearing to go that fast stock, but not the aerodynamics....a mod and a tune? not a chance

My car governs at 240km/hr
almost feels like I hit a brick wall when I am WOT and hit that governer....

I seen in a Mag once a guy hit 200mph with 500rwhp ish....he had everything stripped too among other things...

Yeah I doubt very seriously if he hit 180. Unless his speedo is wrong.
