Go with forged shortblock if possible, but I think a quality one with install is going to be more than 4k. Otherwise PI triple disk tc, 1 pc driveshaft, shocks and springs, adj UCA, adj panhard rod, sticky tires, and if you have enough, a set of Kooks lt headers, smaller pulley and new tune. That should get you near 450rwhp and have the traction to back it up.

What are you talking about? JDM has gone 9's and about 700rwhp with the Saleen blower.

That's what I was thinking. They have ported the blower and have a built long block head/cam car running race fuel, but it's doable.

I don't see any reason the OP shouldn't do his internals. He could run the same power or turn it up. Complete his fuel system, get a 100 oct tune and he should be able to get 600 rwhp to go to the track. He may get alittle over 4k but not by much. About 2k for the assembly and around 3k for labor/tuning. Depending on the fuel system he has he may need to upgrade it or add 60 lbs injectors and/or a dual BAP.

Other wise he could run 12-15 psi, have well over 500 rwhp (91 oct) and be happy as pie with a built motor and a screamin fast car.

I guess we are all spending his money, dreaming.

Ya I would say a forged short block w/ install is more then 4k. The only way you will come anywhere close to only spending 4k is if you go with a mmr block and do all the work yourself. You have to remember though that the reason people go forged is to up the boost on their S/Cers and when you up the boost and get over 500 rwhp you have to do a lot of other things so you car can handle the set up. (Fuel system, Clutch, drive shaft, suspension, etc.)

And they are the only one's that have done this. So you're saying for this guy to drive to NJ? JDM doesn't disclose build tactics so this argument is a mute point. How many motor's did they go through? What is a "mild" hand port? Also how many poeple rave about their craftsmanship?

Just save your 4 grand if you dont want to take your car to the next level. Nowadays, 4K is some good money with all the **** going around.

I'm not saying that he can run 9's easily, all im saying is that he doesn't need to get a new supercharger system. He can easily run 10's with that blower. Don't say he can't because many people are. As far as I can tell they just used 1 forged, built motor with stg 1 cams, ported heads, what they called mild port on the inlet on the supercharger, and required bolt ons. I think 600rwhp is easily attainable with the Sallen. By the way, when they ran the 9, it was at a race weight of 3900lbs. I thought it was pretty impressive and showed what our cars and similar combos can acheive.
