Hamm,

I am currently up in the air between a 4" shaftmasters or the 3.5" Dynotech from Brenspeed. If I ordered today it would probably be the Dynotech. I like that it is a 3.5" so I dont have to worry about clearance, and they seem reputable, and I know Brenspeed would make it right if something went wrong.

Blue,

I am either going to get some staggered anthracite bullits with 255/45/18 fronts and 305/45/18 Nitto DR rears.

Or

I might stay with the stock 17" bullitts and run 255/50/17 fronts and 275/50/17 M&H DR rears.

I know Nitto DR's are decent on the street, but I dont know anything about the M&H's. I do drive in the rain on occassion but I dont mind going into grandpa slow mode when needed. A few people on S 197 Forums run the M&H's on the street with no problem so I am torn.

I really just want traction.

The only plus for the 18x10 rears is that I can run a 295/45/18 Nitto street tires as well.

GT0405-

What gears do you have. If 4.10's I would recommend this for your set up......

17x9 Bullitts with 325/45/17 M&H. If you want to run the stock bullitt wheel (8"), use the 275/50/17.

The M&H run a little small. The first is what I run on our car and they work great

I have noticed that they get alot of heat build up running them on the street.....20+ miles to the track.

Back in the early 90's I ran their racemasters (street slick) on my fox every day! Got caught in the rain one time......never again

Watch those M&H drag radials in the rain. They put me in the wall, ah, the ****** wire fence. They have been sitting in my storage building ever since.

I have 3.55's right now, but plan to get 4.10's in the future I think.

I am looking to run these on the street. I have driven with Nitto's on a DD and I thought they were fine but I dont know about M&H's.

I just really need some traction in the lower gears as I am running 235/55/17's still at my power level.

I can get a really good deal on a new set of 18" DD bullitts with 305 DR's on the back. Once those wear out I would probably run 295/45/18 Nitto 555's.

Moose, If I decide to throw caution to the wind, would you be interested in selling your tires?

Not looking to sell. I plan on going to the track more once the car is paid for. The 275/50/17 M&H drag radials will give you traction on the street, even with 4.10's, but I wouldn't go over 40 mph on a wet road when they have some miles on them.

When they were new, I didn't have a problem in the rain, but the thread depth isn't very deep even when new.

Is "b a r b e d" a bad word that I'm not aware of?

i run a mix of mickey drags, and sometimes mickey dr 275/40/17. i dont get the best traction, but its not bad. i have my rsuspension set up very efficient and i get great body roll when i stomp. I also drive very slow most of the time. But i rarely drive the car unless i racing it.

Hmmm, Now I dont know what to do. The only time I would drive in the rain is if I had to go to work or come home from work.

I can take surface streets and keep it to 40mph to and from.

Money is tight right now so I would rather not buy new wheels right now.

Maybe I should try and get 255/50/17 Nitto Invo's and put them on the rear for a month and see how they are, then if they arent enough I can get the M&H's and put them on the rear and rotate the invo's to the front.

Any input on that plan?

Sorry Hamm I totally went off topic on your thread.

i would go with the nitto 555r2 275/40/17 its been a great tire in the rain as well as on the street. last time i took them to the track becuase i had no choice i ran 11.7s with them to. i had 2.1 60ft as thier not a dig tire but i think they do the job. i mph 124 also
