you will get much better drivability and power potential with the saleen. there are a few roush owners out there that have saleen blowers so you wont be the only one.

Saleen most power potential?? The debate on which s/c is better will go on forever... To the OP you will be extremely satisfied with any F/I.

doubt he meant upper power limit potential (20+ lbs of boost, etc)...the novi would win hands down. maybe he was referring to low-end power potential?

a centri is actually safer on a engine than the saleen

on a stock shortblock, the more low end power/torque from the saleen puts more strain on the rods than the gradual increase from a centri

OK. A SC debate took off while I was gone.... but good stuff regardless.

If I go with Saleen SC (435hp kit) and have 4.10 gears (with 20" rims), will I be spinning my wheels when I hit the accelerator (within reason of course, I mean, I know I can blow my engine in first gear now with the car at a standstill if I floor it)?? This is also a concern. I'm trying to avoid suspension upgrades for now.

Ya man. If you step on it you will break the tires loose for sure. The good thing about a centri is that it doesn't really start to put out power until around 3k rpms when it is spinning fast enough to create boost. The saleen is going to create boost from 1k rpms to 6k rpms. I personally think that centris are great because you can drive around town below 3k rpms and pretend like you don't even have the S/Cer under the hood. But once you want to use it, its right there. But you did say in the OP that you have no intentions of racing right? If thats the case go twin screw, really good street power. I mean your not going to be launching at the street lights over 3k rpms.

+1

I wouldn't worry about breaking anything like someone mentioned. Especially with 20's, I think you'd be fine.
