Saleen vs Paxton-Novi

Saleen vs Paxton-Novi
Have '06 Stage 1 Roush daily driver, no intention for track use. Live in Phoenix (HOT!) Looking to go FI for some extra kick. Car came with 20" rims. Has 4.10 gears and CAI.
1.) My first choice was Brenspeed's Paxton-Novi 2200 IC tuner kit for $4995 (minus $140 paying with cash). Found good/reliable mechanic who will install for $50/hour (roughly $800-1000 total), no dyno tune (none needed per Brenspeed). Entire cost would be about $5700.
2.) Second choice- I was approached with new Saleen SC (435hp kit). Total cost is $6000 out the door (SC and install with dyno tune). Not sure if this is kosher to have Saleen blower on a Roush car.
What do you guys think?? #1 or 2? Or something different for 6K max??
Thx

they are 2 types of different superchargers, one is a centrifugal and the other is a twin screw. Do you like to have the instant torque and power right at from a stop light? Or would you rather have the boost build up as you get higher rpms? In my opinion you need to figure out what type of s/c you would like and then go from there.

My first choice is more likely the centrifugal SC given that I use my car daily at work with a fair amount of traffic. Not sure if a twin-screw is going to put me right up the rear end of a Buick (especially with 4.10 gears). But..., the Saleen is overall a very good blower and quite reliable from what I hear and read.

Before I got my Saleen Kit from Brenspeed's recycle store, I was thinking of going with the Procharger, as my car is a daily driver, and I shared your concerns. I will say that there is no problem with having a twin screw as your daily driver. Yes it makes gobs of low end torque, but remember to produce that amount of power you need to floor the accelerator, which you typically don't do going from light to light. Now, you do have 4.10s, so that would be a little tricky, but there are plenty of folks with twin screws and 4.10s that say it works without a problem. Do not fear the twin screw!

Both are great packages. I went the Novi route and am very pleased with the results. I have 3.73's and find it's a great set-up. Nice for daily/normal driving and then awesome when smashing the accelerator.
