i only want to go slower so i can complete in the 12 sec bracket...i am not fast enough in the 11 sec bracket to compete. So I came up with my own solution to the issue and will test it out tomorrow night at the track. here is a pic of it...see if you all have a clue what i did

you put a metal bracket behind the petal. nice but i would probably break it. I would weigh down your trunk. 200lbs should do it.
and 3 67lbs chicks.. must be 8 years old not cool
2 100lb thats better.

My votes is to short shift. Shift 500rpms sooner. Adjust as needed on the fly.

This is still a possibility but it is much easier and consistant to add weight. The weight will be the same everytime and you can add/subtract it as needed without crawling under your dash. Seems easier to pop your trunk and pull out 50 lbs or add 50 lbs rather than screwing/unscrewing stuff under the dash.

I still would be afraid of damaging something with the throttle stop method.

If the pro racers are running too fast in any type of racing, officals make them add weight.

yes i agree. i would do an easy launch. (to limit wear) and then get a consistant run with the addition of wieght. as stated above that is the way it is done by the pros

interesting mod you have there gypsy. I dont like it, but interesting.

IMO, better to add the weight. That's what the pros do. JDM runs a 9 second car and adds weight to adjust their ET

I don't think that metal piece will work, and if it does, it will slow you down too much. Our cars, with drive by wire, recognize WOT after a certain pedal position. I'm sure you know, once the car is in WOT, all fuel mapping, shifting for autos, etc changes. The last 1/4" or so of pedal travel does not matter, once you pass a certain point, you will be in "WOT mode".

If the thing does work and keep you out of WOT, you will be out of WOT for the whole run and it will slow you down ALOT more than .2 sec.

I agree with adding weight. .2 sec in the quarter is so minute a time diference, it's not likely something you can precisely control with your foot. In fact .2 -.3 sec has alot more to do with launch, tire pressure, ambient temps and actual weight. For example, my car improved .51 sec just by running on a day that was 40 degrees cooler!
