You should be able to beat him stock. My GT ran 13.8 stock, my friends ran 13.7 and I've had a few customer run between 13.7-13.8 bone off the show room floor stock.

I had a stock 04 Grand Prix GTP = 260hp V6 Supercharged that was totally stock and ran consistant 14.7 at 94mph on 225/55/17 factory tires. Would of been much faster with bigger tires/lower tire pressure.

I just bought an 08 Grand Prix GXP = 303hp V8 that comes from the factory with 255/45/18 tires that is a great deal faster than my 04 GTP. The GXP also come with 12.7" front & 12.0" rear drilled rotors.

I'm sure I'll hit the 13"s with my GXP. A freind's 2000 Mustang GT was running consistant 14.0 at the track 2 months ago and my GXP is faster than him.

My Wife's 06 V6 Mustang also runs consistant 14.7 even with the heavy 18" rims.

Have you ridden in your friend's "batmobile" yet? It may not have the classy lines of the current Mustang but drive it and you will be impressed. Check your local dealer for a GXP and go test drive one yourself.

With the mods you currently have and equal driving skill you should take the GXP but not by as much as you would think. With the 4.10 gears traction will be a problem.

From what I've seen going to PIR in Oregon to get the current Mustang GT into the 13s you need CAI & a high performance tune.

If a Stock GT can run 13.2's and 13.3's with great drivers, and you have 4.10's you will kill him off the line if you launch the car right.

Correct me if im wrong but dont the current GT's run mid-high 13's stock? I mean you can take a Lamborghini and make it run 15's with the worst driver on the planet, but a decent driver should be able to hit mid 13's stock with a GT. I could be wrong, but thats a rarity .

You should be able to take him right now. Like was said, just dont dump the clutch to launch and spin your way to a loss.

The current Mustang GT under ideal conditions with a great driver may pull a 13.7-13.8 but the typical driver will run about .5 sec slower or worse from what you read in the magazines. That's held true from what I've seen going to the drags over the last 30+ years.

Taking your car to the track can be very humbling. This spring I'll take my GXP to the track and try to race a stock GT then post the video win or loose.
