Default is it worth it?

i got a 2007 mustang gt specs on my sig

a friend of mine asked to trade for a 2006 gt (auto) but it is turbo charged i think turbo netics which is runing 9psi and he said it needed new turbo hose for the oil waste gate spring and a turbo bullbearing

and 5 months ago he blew his motor and swaped it with a used stock short block

what does every one think?

i dont use my car any more it is a garage queen but 99% i dont want to trade and 1% i still dont want to trade but i just want to know what every one would do in my situation?

Thats a hard one, I would be worried about the setup if he blew his old motor. Why does HE want to trade? BUT, it does have a turbo :-D

Sounds like more trouble than it's worth.

I'd checkout whatever documentation he has for the work, invoices, etc then start calling round and find out if the people who did the work have a good name, he might has just had a bad run with his car but everything might not be perfect save the parts so it could be a great trade but definitely do some background checking before making a decision.

you have to be extra careful with blown turbo motors because you have the exhaust turbo catching any pieces of metal that leaves the exhaust port during the engine failure. when i was getting my gears installed, the shop had a civic that floated a valve and the valve went through the exhaust and bent the h3ll out of the turbine side of the turbocharger.

Don't traid. You some nice mods on your current car and you would be trading for a car that has had problems. Plus if something goes wrong it would put a strain on your relationship with your friend.

I'd keep the car you have. Potential for too many issues
