Transmission/clutch problems??

yep and since moose's new OEM slave
seems to be holding up just fine, i also
put one in...
if you use a pressure plate that exceeds
the holding pressure of the slave, certainly
it's not gonna last....

that's one thing i was concerned about
aclass, since i just put in a hurst sts
shifter....
i haven't been able to take the car out
since putting it in, but i was able to start
the car and move it back and forth in the
garage....
so far, no problems getting it into first
or reverse.

Again, it would be hard to get into 1st and the clutch wouldn't fully disengage, it would also creep forward at idle when you rev it. So far all the aftermarket ones suck as well. I wouldn't say the stock ones suck, they seem to work fine with a stock clutch and a lot of people are using them with performance clutches without problems.

Its not hard to get into first, and once i can get it into reverse its not as hard to go back and forth. ill try to get it up to ford sometime this week or so for them to have a look.

try this. a lot of 5 speed transmissions (including the T5) are "1st to reverse" patterned. that is, in addition to whatever lockout they might have on reverse, to get into reverse easier, your supposed move the shifter into 1st (while at a complete stop) THEN into reverse. mine is sometimes almost impossible to get into reverse, but this always clears it right up.
hope this helps
