Based only on sound, which pipe would give an 05-09 stang gt a more aggressive roar?

I like the deeper sound you get out of an H pipe. X is more raspy, raw sounding. Slightly better power gains out of an o/r X though vs. the H.

mustangs come stock with an H. what's the difference between a stock H and an aftermarket H? how about the differenct between H and O/R H

O/R H-pipe means there is not cats. The main reason the stock H-pipe is quiet is because of the cats. Deciding between an H-pipe and X-pipe really depends on what axlebacks you have. Some sound better with an H and some with the X. The really deep toned mufflers like borla mac etc. sound good with both.

I prefer the H-pipe.....deeper sound overall (when combined with the right mufflers)
