Default Exhaust Fumes might be a problem?

I nearly passed out today thinking it was food poisining and after going to the doctor, he told me that that was the main cause for my discomfort, but for some reason, my dad thinks that the reason for my dizzyness was a result of me driving with my windows down all the time with an off road exhaust setup. Anyone know from experience if this is even a possibility? Maybe carbon monoxide poisining from the setup? If this turns out to be a problem, then I will definitely be installing some high flow cats. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Maybe if you were always in a vert w/ the top down driving behind your car while someone else drove it.

man I thought I was up on my mustang tech already, but what is the over axle pipe? I had my entire setup installed by one of the best if not the best exhaust shop for stangs in miami so I would find them not installing something very unlikely

It's the pipe that bends over your axle that connects the mid-pipe with the axle-back mufflers. Look under your car, you can see it easily.

Yeah - just make sure you have exhaust pipe connecting your mufflers all the way up to the engine. The idea is if your exhaust is open at he midpoint of the car maybe you're getting fumes in the windows.

Driving at speed with the windows down would not pull enough exhaust
into the cabin to be of any amount to cause sickness or passing out.
Even with a missing over the axle pipe. One would notice this mistake
right away. You would have to have some sort of massive leak to get
interior CarbonMonoxide poisioning. You would definitely hear the leak
if it was that bad. Maybe go and get a battery powered CarbonMonoxide
monitor and put it in the stang with you. As long as the exhaust exits
at the rear of the vehicle, there is no possability of CO2 poisioning in
an open air driving situation.

Did the doctor do a blood workup to see the CO2 levels in you blood?

no, windows down and an exhaust leak will not poison you, windows up and an exhaust leak, yes definitely. A few years ago, one of those big Dodge vans had the windows open just in the back doors on the highway. It creates a windtunnel and the exhaust went right in the back windows. Many people got very sick in that van. It would have been ok if they also had the front windows open.

Older Station Wagons would also do that. Suck exhaust in the rear
window when the other windows are up.
I had a VW bug that heated with air drawn in from the engine compartment
and passed it over J Tubes on the exhaust. Any exhaust leak and you
were sure to get some Carbon Monoxide inside when its cold and the
heaters running and the windows are up.
And with those poorly designed VWs, exhaust leaks were way too common.

Well I jacked uo the car and checked no leaks I was able to tighten up a bolt where the midpipe is but not much at all so I don't think it was that if there was a problem. Thanks for all the responses!
